CAMPAIGN-FINANCE COMPLIANCE
- Contributions are unlimited in amount under Virginia law.
- We may accept funds from individuals, corporations, and PACs.
- We cannot accept contributions from foreign nationals or from any person using the funds of another.
- For donors whose aggregate giving exceeds $100 per election cycle, Virginia law requires disclosure of full name, residential address, occupation, and employer; these details become public record in filings with the Virginia Department of Elections.
- All reports are filed electronically in COMET in accordance with Va. Code §§ 24.2-945 et seq.

PRIVACY POLICY

1. SCOPE
This notice describes how the campaign ("we," "our") processes personal data collected via simpsonforappomattox.com (the "Site").
2. DATA WE COLLECT
- Information you provide: name, email, phone, address, employer, occupation, donation amount, content submitted in webforms.
- Automatic information: IP address, device/browser data, pages visited, time on page, referring URL, and cookie identifiers.
3. HOW WE USE DATA
- Process and publicly report contributions as required by law.
- Send emails, texts, or mailers you request or that further our campaign outreach.
- Coordinate volunteer activities and events.
- Analyze Site performance and advertising effectiveness (Google Analytics).
- Comply with applicable federal and state laws and defend legal rights.
4. SHARING
- Public disclosure: donation records above statutory thresholds are filed with the Virginia Department of Elections.
- Service providers: Anedot (payment), email/SMS vendors, web-hosting, analytics. Providers receive only the information necessary to perform their function and are bound by contract to keep it confidential.
- No sale of personal data. We do not sell or rent your information.
5. COOKIES & TRACKING
We use first-party and third-party cookies for essential functions and analytics. You may control cookies in your browser. The Site honors the Global Privacy Control signal to opt out of targeted advertising. A link to the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on is provided in the Site footer.
6. YOUR VIRGINIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (VCDPA)
Virginia residents may confirm, access, correct, delete, and download their personal data, and may opt out of (i) targeted advertising, (ii) the sale of personal data, or (iii) profiling in furtherance of decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. Requests should be sent to [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days, extendable once by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary (§ 59.1-577).
7. CHILDREN
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. DATA SECURITY
We employ TLS encryption, least-privilege access controls, and periodic security assessments. Donation pages are served directly by Anedot on PCI-compliant infrastructure.
9. UPDATES
Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Site after updates constitutes acceptance.
